About Alexandra L. Capps
Founder of Papillon Psychiatry, Health & Wellness
THE TURNING POINT
Healing came once I started listening differently.
I began to notice patterns: how stress showed up in my body, how breath influenced my stability, how movement affected my nervous system, and how nourishment shaped my energy and recovery.
I stopped chasing quick fixes and started paying attention to the small inputs that quietly shape capacity over time.
Slowly but surely, those small, intentional changes helped me feel better.
More than that, they reshaped my understanding of resilience.
Over time, I experienced a personal metamorphosis — not a sudden transformation, but a gradual unfolding. One insight led to another. One small shift created momentum. Like the butterfly effect, subtle changes created ripple effects that extended far beyond symptoms, influencing how I moved, worked, rested, and trusted myself again.
Papillon was born from that understanding.
WHY PAPILLON EXISTS
Papillon exists for women who feel capable yet unsupported — high-functioning on the outside, but quietly struggling on the inside.
I created this practice to offer the kind of care I was searching for: thoughtful, integrative, and grounded in the understanding that the mind, body, and nervous system are deeply connected.
Here, nothing is treated in isolation:
- Mental health influences physical resilience
- Movement affects nervous system capacity
- Nourishment shapes energy, recovery, and mood
- The nervous system determines whether change feels safe or sustainable
Real change doesn’t come from forcing progress.
It comes from building steadiness, one intentional step at a time.
HOW I SUPPORT WOMEN
My work brings together multiple disciplines to support women navigating complex, overlapping challenges, including hypermobility, migraines, anxiety, chronic pain, nervous system overwhelm, and periods of transition that don’t fit neatly into one category.
I don’t believe in rushing the process or pushing through symptoms. I believe in helping women understand what their bodies and nervous systems are communicating and giving them the clarity to respond without fear.
Care at Papillon is collaborative, personalized, and paced, designed to help you feel more supported, more confident, and more at home in your body over time.
MY BACKGROUND
I bring both lived experience and professional training to this work, including:
- Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
- Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
- Certified Personal Trainer
- Corrective Exercise Specialist
- Master Certified Life Coach
- Group Fitness Instructor
- Heart Rate Variability (HRV) Biofeedback Practitioner
- Nutrition-Focused Guide
- Ongoing education in nervous system-informed care, movement science, nutrition, and integrative wellness
Together, these experiences shape the foundation of my work. My expertise includes psychiatric care, physical health, coaching, movement-based work, and nervous system-informed approaches, allowing me to support women whose challenges span emotional, physiological, and regulatory systems. Rather than applying these disciplines separately, I weave them together— creating care that reflects the whole person, not just individual symptoms.

AN INVITATION
Papillon is for women who are ready to stop pushing through and start listening. For women who want to feel steadier, stronger, and more aligned without losing themselves in the process.
You don’t need to have all the answers.
You don’t need to know exactly where to begin.
If something in your body or life feels out of sync, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to navigate it by yourself.
I’d be honored to support you as you begin your own journey of transformation.
